THE AMSA AWARD

At AMSA, we believe that research is a fundamental tool to transform healthcare in Mexico and to build a future in which medical knowledge benefits society as a whole. For this reason, we promote the AMSA Award in Support of Research, an initiative that recognizes the talent, vocation, and commitment of young investigators whose work contributes to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the strengthening of healthcare practices in our country.

First Place: USD $50,000 (distributed over 3 years)

  • Year 1: USD $15,000

  • Year 2: USD $15,000

  • Year 3: USD $20,000

Second Place: USD $15,000

Third Place: USD $10,000

This award supports and accompanies original research projects that, through methodological rigor and a social focus, generate high-impact solutions and help consolidate careers dedicated to the progress of medicine and the health sciences.

To participate:

Requirements

  • Be an investigator under 45 years of age.

  • Submit an original research project.

  • The project may be basic, clinical, or epidemiological research.

  • The project must be conducted in Mexico.

  • The project must be relevant to the investigator’s career.

  • Have an appropriate methodological structure.

  • Have social impact.

Mandatory proposal content

  • Research title.

  • Name of the principal investigator and co-investigators.

  • Abstract (maximum 300 words).

  • Specific objectives.

  • Background and justification.

  • Methodology.

  • Expected results.

  • Analysis plan.

  • References.

  • Timeline.

  • Description of potential barriers and strategies to address them.

Required documentation

  • Candidate’s curriculum summary (CV).

  • Letter from a public and/or private health or academic institution endorsing the project.

  • Institutional approval letter from the Ethics and Research Committee and/or Biosafety Committee, as applicable.

  • If animals are involved, a letter from the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).

Proposal format

  • Single-spaced document.

  • Arial 11-point font.

  • Maximum length of 5 pages, including figures and tables (excluding references).

  • Proposals exceeding this length will be rejected.

    premios en la Ciudad de México
