Seminars in Mexico

OMI-MEX Seminars
OMI-MEX is a joint initiative between OMI and AMSA, established in 2017, which allows expert faculty from Salzburg to teach seminars in Mexico. In 2024, 13 OMI-MEX seminars were held with academic leadership from Weill Cornell Medicine, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Duke University, Columbia University, and Memorial Sloan Kettering, benefiting 401 physicians from Mexico and Latin America. The three-day seminars were held in Mexico City and Oaxaca, following OMI's four-step approach and consolidating the training of healthcare professionals in the region.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The OMI-MEX seminars are aimed at Mexican and Latin American physicians with the following profiles:

Young doctors under 40 years of age.

Have completed their specialty or be in the final phase of their residency.

Mastery of English, allowing for intense interaction during lectures and debates.

Proactive

Social and leadership skills

Committed to AMSA's mission

Willing to share his experiences and knowledge with his colleagues.

The call for applications and the application process for seminars in Mexico (AMSA and OMI-MEX) are disseminated through our Fellows and partner institutions.
Seminars with the IMSS Foundation

For four years, AMSA, in collaboration with the IMSS Foundation, has offered seminars focused on clinical and basic research, strengthening continuing medical education and the capacity of physicians to improve healthcare quality in their institutions.

Seminars with ABC Medical Center
AMSA invites physicians from the ABC Medical Center to Oaxaca once a year to offer two-day seminars to physicians in vulnerable areas. The first day features theoretical classes, and the second day features practical workshops. This program allows for direct sharing of experiences and knowledge with participating physicians, promoting ongoing medical development and best practices in patient safety.
