The Open Medical Institute (OMI) seminars in Salzburg, Austria, are intensive five-day programs that combine lectures, clinical case presentations, and workshops.

They are designed to strengthen continuing medical education and the professional development of young physicians, providing participants with tools to improve clinical practice and healthcare leadership. Each week focuses on a different medical specialty, covering all areas of medicine throughout the year.

Since the beginning of this collaboration in 2010, 905 Mexican physicians have participated in these programs. Participants are selected for their merit and leadership in healthcare. They must be fluent in English, have social skills, and be willing to share their knowledge back in Mexico, benefiting vulnerable communities and groups.
